How to get Rid of Warts naturally

get rid of warts

Warts are small, benign growths that can appear on the skin. They are caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are highly contagious. Warts can be unsightly and bothersome, and many people seek natural remedies to get rid of them.

What causes warts?

There are some indications that vitamin B12 deficiency weakens the body’s natural ability to defend from warts. If you’re vegetarian or on a mostly plant based diet, the odds are high that you are not getting enough Vitamin B12. You likely need to supplement. Any skin stressors like bites, injuries, or other problems can add additional stress that weakens your body’s defenses.

Conventional Treatments

Compound W and other conventional treatments use salicylic acid as a treatment. Instructions say that you should use once or twice per day for twelve weeks. That means if you start on January 1, you won’t see relief until the first week of spring! Of course, that means that many people wish to find treatments that are faster and require less diligence.

As well, there are treatments that can freeze off a wart. These are harsh treatments that basically burn your skin with super cold liquified nitrogen. This is a harsh treatment that can only be done sparingly. And for me and my experience, it just didn’t work. After three treatments 2 weeks apart, the wart was just still there.

Iodine as a treatment

One natural remedy for warts is iodine. Iodine is a chemical element that has antiviral properties and can help kill the virus that causes warts. To use iodine as a treatment for warts, you can apply a small amount of iodine directly to the wart using a cotton swab or Q-tip. Be sure to clean the area first and allow the iodine to dry completely before covering the area with a bandage. It is important to be careful not to get iodine on healthy skin, as it can cause irritation.

garlic as a wart remedy

Another natural remedy for warts is garlic. Garlic has antiviral and antibacterial properties and has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. To use garlic as a treatment for warts, you can crush a fresh clove of garlic and apply it directly to the wart. You can also mix crushed garlic with a small amount of water to make a paste and apply it to the wart. Cover the area with a bandage and leave it on for several hours before removing.

Why not both

If you’re dealing with a wart, using a combination of garlic and iodine might be just the thing you need to weaken the virus so that your body can get a leg up in its war against viruses. Alternating a garlic treatment along with iodine can be successful in eliminating skin warts.

This tactic definitely shrunk the wart considerably in my case, but I then ended up having another wart pop up in a different place, so now I’m fighting two.

If you’re dealing with a wart in a sensitive area, be aware that natural treatments such as garlic or iodine might be harsh to your skin. Tread carefully, and get the help of a professional.

In summary, iodine and garlic are natural remedies that have been used to treat warts. Iodine has antiviral properties and can be applied directly to the wart, while garlic has antiviral and antibacterial properties and can be applied as a paste. While these remedies may not work for everyone, they can be worth a try for those seeking natural treatment options.
